LAKE ARTHUR – On Monday, Lake Arthur Mayor Robert Bertrand explained three tax propositions to be decided on the ballot this Saturday.

Voters in precincts 1 and 2 in the town of Lake Arthur will be asked to decide on three property tax propositions on the Dec. 8 ballot.

The first proposition on the ballot is a 10-year tax continuation on taxable property in Lake Arthur. According to the proposition, a vote “yes” would authorize the town to continue levying the tax until 2022. The tax is expected to bring in $24,600 annually and is used for the purpose of maintaining, operating and improving recreational facilities, as well as public parks in Lake Arthur.
