Midland bests Jennings in tourney

The Jennings Bulldogs faced host team the Midland Rebels in the final game of Friday’s action for the Holiday Spectacular Tournament. The Rebels built an early double-digit lead but had to fend the Bulldogs in the second half. The Rebels squeaked by the Bulldogs 66-61.
In first quarter action, the Rebels struck first with a jumper hit by Jake Gotreaux. The Bulldogs answered with consecutive jumpers nailed by John Charles and Malik Williams. The Rebels settled and went on a 10-0 run thanks to baskets hit by Alan Vondenstien and Jake Gotreaux. The Rebels led the Bulldogs 12-4 in the middle of the first quarter. The Bulldogs ended the drought with jumpers by Draylan Perkins and Branc Baca -White. The Rebels ended the first quarter with a late jumper by Darren Gotreaux. The home team led the Bulldogs 19-11 at the end of the first quarter.
