Mrs. Lawrence (Helen Dupuis) Fruge
LAKE ARTHUR – Funeral services for Mrs. Lawrence “Blackie” (Helen Dupuis) Fruge, 77, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.
Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.
A rosary, led by Diane Cormier, will be recited at 7 p.m., today, Friday, Dec. 21 in the funeral home chapel.
Funeral home visitation will be from 2:30-10 p.m., today, Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
Mrs. Fruge died at 2:02 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at her daughter Helen’s residence.
Mrs. Fruge was a resident of Lake Arthur since 1984. She was a loving wife, mother and a great cook. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Lawrence “Blackie” Fruge of Lake Arthur; five daughters, Helen (Donald) Conner of Jennings, Sandra Duhon of Jennings, Catherine (Joseph) LeJeune of Lake Arthur, Laura (Phillip) Istre of Jennings and Karen Fruge of Jennings; three sons, Paul (Judy) Fruge of Mermentau, Michael (Claudia) Fruge of Jennings; Lawrence (Trina) Fruge of Jennings; two sisters, Leona D. Fruge of Jennings, Shirley Martin of Jennings; two brothers, Clyde Dupuis of Lake Arthur, Edward Dupuis of Lake Arthur; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fruge is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and NolaBertrand Dupuis; a daughter, Karen Fruge; a brother, Edward Dupuis; a grandson, Scott Conner; a great-grandson, Luke Byron Duhon; and a son-in-law, Byron Duhon
