Sedonia Marie Deshotel
It is with great sadness that the family of Sedonia “Donia” Marie Deshotel announces her passing from this life on Dec. 6, 2012, while in the comfort of her home in Walker. She was 68 years old. Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. to honor her life. Donia will be laid to rest in Miller French Baptist Cemetery. Deacon Mike Tramel will be officiating her services.
Visitation will be held today, Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, from 3-9 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings and resume on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8 a.m. until the time of her services. A rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Sedonia Marie was born in Welsh to the late Gladu Granger and the late Felicia Allemand Granger on Aug. 20, 1944. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her beloved husband, Jester, and raising her son, Mark. She enjoyed sewing, listening to French music, and spending time with her beautiful grandchildren. Donia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Heather Granger of Walker; her four grandchildren, Dalton, Lance, Brent and Hayley Granger; two brothers, Joseph Granger of Pine Island and Onezime Paul Granger of Sulphur; and her four sisters, Lena Mae Trahan of Laccassine, Anna Mae Picket of Elton, Agnes Guidry of Jennings, and Gladys Gary of Hathaway.
Donia now rests in Heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, Gladu and Felicia Granger; her husband, Jester Deshotel; two brothers, Dudley Granger and Te-Claude Granger; and her sister, Lucille Pickett.
