START giving the gift of education

BATON ROUGE – With escalating costs of higher education on the long-term horizon, State Treasurer John Kennedy suggests that one of the best gifts to give a child this holiday season is an investment in a Louisiana START 529 college savings account.
“The holidays are the perfect time to give a child the meaningful gift of a Louisiana START account that will impact their education in the years to come while maximizing tax benefits for the contributor in the short term,” Kennedy said.
