The Jeff Davis Parish School Board hosted its final meeting for 2012 at Jennings Elementary School Thursday. There, teacher Whitney Myers gave board members a hands-on presentation of Active Expressions, an educational application made possible at the school thanks to the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy grant. The program allows a teacher to present a lesson, as well as assign, collect, evaluate and grade class work. Students can type in text; work math equations; answer multiple choice or yes/no questions and more all from an electronic device.
