It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Cecile Miller announces her passing from this life on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. She was 88 years old.

Funeral services to honor her life will be held today, Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Mrs. Cecile will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Vergil “Joe” Miller, in Calvary Cemetery. Deacon Bennett McNeal will officiate her services.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, from 3-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visiting hours will resume today, Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings.

Cecile was born in Evangeline to the late Leonard Daigle and the late Marelia LeJeune Daigle on Feb. 2, 1924. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her children and taking care of her husband. She was a very kind and caring person who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to the beach, French dances, and she enjoyed eating crabs.

Cecile is survived by her two sons and their wives, Wayne and Jeanelle Miller of Jennings and Glenn and Lillian Miller of Lake Charles; one daughter and her husband, Pat and Mike Savoy of Lafayette; her daughter-in-law, Neldarine Miller of Hathaway; one brother, David Daigle of Crowley; six sisters, Ann Doucet of Iota, Helen LaFleur of Evangeline, Ernestine LaFleur of Eunice, Elgae Conner of Jennings, Carrie Simon of Crowley, and Marjorie Nell LeJeune of Evangeline; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cecile now rests in Heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, Leonard and Marelia Daigle; her husband, Vergil “Joe” Miller; one son, Kenneth Miller; two grandchildren, Kirk Allen Miller and Christi Miller; two great-grandchildren, Chase Augustine and Marcus Miller; her three brothers, LeRoy, Wilson and Elray Daigle; and two sisters, Ella Mae Deshotel and Ruth Miller.
