Dorothy Mae Hebert
Funeral services will be held honoring the life of Dorothy Mae “Dot” Hebert, 81, today, Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. She was called to her Heavenly Father on Jan. 19, 2013. Ms. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Tee-Mamou Cemetery with Brother Blain St. Germain and Brother Dora Langley officiating her services.
Visitation for Ms. Dorothy was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, from 3-9 p.m. and resumed today, Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at 9 a.m. until the time of her service.
Dorothy Mae was born in Jennings to the late Armand Cormier and the late Amanda Hanks Cormier on Feb. 22, 1931. She was a retired school bus driver for Acadia Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family and church family. She loved watching gospel singing on TV. She especially loved her time spent with her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorothy “Dot” is survived by her beloved husband of 63 wonderful years, Carrol Hebert of Evangeline; two sons, Shannon (Debbie) Hebert of Baton Rouge, and Bryan (Sandi) Hebert of Moss Bluff; one daughter, Rhonda H. (Ricky) Mahafffey of Oberlin; one brother, Charles Cormier, and one sister, Viola LeGros, both of Jennings. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dorothy was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved family whom preceded her in death: her parents, Armand and Amanda Cormier; one son, Roderick Hebert; one daughter, Carlotta Hebert; two brothers; and two sisters.
Carrying Mrs. Dorothy to her final resting place will be Jared Hebert, Josh Hebert, Jake LaBauve, James Gueho, Ry Mahaffey and Dusty Ewing. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Brady Gueho.
