WELSH – Genevieve B. Fontenot, 63, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at her residence.
She born in Jennings and lived all her life in Welsh. She worked for Bill’s Dollar Store as an assistant manager. She was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Her funeral was held on Monday, January 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. The Rev. Darrell Hieronymus officiated. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh. Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, and resumed Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, from 8 a.m. until service time at funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Lubert Fontenot; a daughter, Angie Trahan; her mother, Juanita Bourque; two brothers, Herschel and Wendell Bourque, all of Welsh; two sisters, Jerrie Benoit and Brenda Lasha of Lake Charles; and two grandchildren, Lucas and Tyler Trahan of Welsh.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maxim Bourque; a daughter, Rhonda Fontenot; and a brother, Ronald Bourque.
