Jennings, Lake Arthur Celebrate MLK Day

   Residents in Lake Arthur celebrated the life of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday with a parade down Iowa Avenue followed by readings, music and speeches at Antioch Baptist Church. In Jennings, residents honored King’s fight for equality Monday with the Community Showcase at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church that included a blood drive, a talent show, Kids’ Zone and more sponsored by Our Savior’s Church.
