The Jennings Bulldogs and Lady Dogs visited Iowa Tuesday in a district showdown, with the Lady Bulldogs inking out a 40-39 victory over the Lady Yellow Jackets for their first district win of the season. The Bulldogs weren’t as fortunate, as they dropped their contest to their hosts, 73-63.
In girls’ action, the Lady Bulldogs got off to a good start with consecutive jumpers by Syndi Duplichan. A three-pointer by Kylie Hanks later tied the game at 9. The Lady Bulldogs led the Lady Yellow Jackets, 11-9, at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Lady Bulldogs began to build a modest lead. Jumpers by Kaily Breaux and Hanks contributed to Bulldogs’ halftime advantage of 22-16.
