Leona Dupuis Fruge
A Mass of Christian burial to honor the life of Leona Dupuis Fruge will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings with Father Anthony Fontenot officiating her services. Mrs. Fruge passed away Jan. 22, 2013, at the age of 84. She will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery.
Visitation will begin today, Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Visiting hours will resume on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral Mass.
Leona was born in Lake Arthur to the late Isaac Dupuis and the late Nola Bertrand Dupuis on Jan. 28, 1928. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She loved attending church services and helping the congregation with Mass.
Leona is survived by her five sons, Leonard John (Cheryl) Fruge of Jennings, Ronald James Fruge of Nederland, Texas, David Wayne (Lynn) Fruge of Bayou Chene, Rodney Allen Fruge of Jennings, and Christopher (Michelle) Fruge of Jennings; one daughter, Felicia Marie (Harold) Conner of Hammon; one brother, Clyde Dupuis of Lake Arthur; her sister, Shirley Martin of Jennings; 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her beloved family: her parents, Isaac and Nola Dupuis; her husband, Leonard Fruge; one grandson, Bradon Scott Fruge; her granddaughter, Stacy Rachel Fruge; two siblings, Edward Dupuis and Helen Fruge; and one daughter-in-law, Brenda Faye Fruge.
