Locals earn La. Master Farmers distinction

Jeff Davis Parish residents Dwayne Compton and Mark Zaunbrecher have both been recognzied as new Louisiana Master Farmers. Compton and Zaunbrecher are two of 33 members of the 2013 class of Louisiana Master Farmers and were recently acknowledged at a luncheon sponsored by the Louisiana Association of Conservation Districts in Baton Rouge.
The graduating class marks the second largest group since the first class was honored in 2006, according to Ernest Girouard, LSU AgCenter coordinator of the Master Farmer Program.
