LAFAYETTE – Funeral services and a Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mary Elizabeth Raggio Moore, 89, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Jennings at a later date.

She  passed away on Jan. 12, 2013, at 8:50 a.m. at her residence.

Liz Moore, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Earl Eugene Raggio Sr. and the former Aurore Doucet both of Lafayette. Liz graduated from Lafayette Sr. High School and attended SLI. After marrying Mayo, they moved to Jennings to raise their family. Throughout her life, Liz was a dedicated caregiver and prayer warrior for her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and football. She was active in the Catholic Daughters of America and was the last standing president of the local chapter of World War I Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughters, May Elizabeth Moore (Jack) Berry, Patti Moore (John) Chidlow, Vicki Moore (Jerry) Slason, Kim Moore (Mike) Duplechian, Lisa Monique Moore (fiancé James Collard); her 16 grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Virginia R. Thayer and Lois R. Rogers; and her brother, Earl E. (Catherine) Raggio Jr..

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mayo A. Moore; her sons, Douglas L. Moore, Jeffery J. Moore, R. Blaise Moore; infant son,  James “Jimmy” Moore; and her daughter- in-law, Judy Guidroz Moore.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette today, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, from 3-9 p.m. and continue Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to time of services.  A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 15 in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Chidlow, John Chidlow Jr., Scott Comegys, Harley LeLeux, Jonah Slason and Everett Broussard.

Donations may be made to the Mayo A. Moore Athletic Fund, 600 Roberts Avenue, Jennings, La., 70546; or the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Bellfort Road, Ste. 300, Jacksonville, Fla., 32256.
