Funeral services for Michael “Mike” LaSage, 55, will be held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Father Charles McMillin will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, from 3:30-10 p.m., and resumed today, Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. A rosary was recited by Sandra Hotard on Monday evening at 6 p.m.
Mr. LaSage died at 8:50 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Mr. LaSage was the supervisor of the City of Jennings Water Department for 22 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working. He also loved playing and riding around with his special friend and companion, his dog “Ace”.
Mr. LaSage is survived by his mother, Eva LaSage of Jennings; his three brothers, Hilton LaSage of Evangeline, Ronald (Kathy) LeSage of Carlyss, and Darrell (Ruthie) LaSage of Mermentau; three sisters, JoAnn (Terry) Leger of Evangeline, Janelle (Mark) Benoit of Evangeline, and Jennifer (Troy) Cormier of Jennings; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson C. LaSage. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Carrying Mr. LaSage to his eternal resting place in Greenwood Cemetery will be Scotty Murray, Josh Murray, Justin Cormier, Jarred LaSage, Jamie LaSage and Johnathon LaSage. Honorary pallbearers will be Severen Murray and Gavin LaSage.
