Pageant aims to raise funds for cancer research

Ten years ago, Tammy Marie Portie Suydam was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She slipped into a coma and her doctor in Houston, Texas, said she would not awake.
One week later, though, she pulled through. The doctor then said she would never go home, but would instead spend her days in a nursing home.
