Proceedings in rape case postponed

By SHEILA SMITH

Assistant Editor

A plea hearing in a Jeff Davis Parish (JDP) aggravated incest case that was set for today has been postponed.

Gerald Johnson, 65, of Iowa, was arrested in late 2011 and charged with aggravated incest. He was set to appear in the 31st Judicial District Court today but JDP District Attorney Michael Cassidy said proceedings have been postponed.

Because the case is pending, Cassidy said he could not discuss any details in the matter.
