GUEYDAN – It is with great sadness that the family of Shanna Theriot Rodriquez announces her passing from this life in the early morning hours on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, while in the comfort of her home in Lake Arthur surrounded by her beloved family. She was 32 years old.
Funeral services to honor her life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Gueydan on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Gueydan Cemetery.
Visitation will begin today, Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, from 2 p.m. until the time of her funeral services on Saturday at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan.
Shanna was born in Kaplan on May 12, 1980, to Roland Wilson and Linda Theriot. She was a certified nursing assistant. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and friends. She was the mother of four beautiful children and loved watching them play sports.
Shanna is survived by her husband, Marcos Rodriquez of Egan; and her four beautiful children, Drey Wise, Cortrevan Matthews, Marcos Rodriquez II and McKinley Rodriquez, all of Lake Arthur. Shanna also leaves behind a large family to cherish her memories: her parents, Roland (Sue) Wilson of Gueydan, and Linda T. (Donald) Whitman of Lake Arthur; her four brothers, Dexter (Tonya) Breaux of Midland, Darren Breaux of Lake Arthur, Shawn (Nancy) Theriot of Gueydan, and Boss (Kelli) Theriot of Gueydan; five sisters, Donna Breaux of Gueydan, Deana (Harold) Corumia of Crowley, Renee (Kenny) Landry of Jennings, Chastity (Blain) Johnson of Gueydan, and Patsy Wilson of Gueydan; five half-sisters, Leslie Mouton of Kaplan, Hazel Mouton of Kaplan, Grace Mouton of Kaplan, Tang Robinson of Lake Arthur, and Gerrilyn Gantt of Estherwood; and her four half-brothers, Troy (Meyon) Wilson Sr. of Sunset, Roland (Mary) Wilson Jr. of Crowley, Doris (Rhoda) Wilson of Junction City, Kan. and Ronald “Pas” Mouton of Kaplan. Shanna’s memories and love are in our hearts forever and always.
Carrying Shanna to her eternal resting place in Gueydan Cemetery will be Kenne Wayne Landry, Shawn Theriot, Blain Johnson, Torey Breaux, Brandon Jones and Quintan Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will include Keenan Landry, Marcos Rodriquez, Edmond Wilson, Drey Wise, Cortrevan Matthews and Andrew Wilson.
