Welsh drainage project may have pros and cons

WELSH – A town-wide drainage project is in the works here but culvert issues might cause a headache for both officials and residents.

Town Superintendent Rick Matte told the Welsh mayor and Board of Aldermen this week that natural buildup of mud and debris has clogged many ditches throughout the town while other areas hardly see drainage. He said town workers recently tried to clear some ditches and culverts with town equipment but had no luck.
