Welsh reviews bridges after state inspections

WELSH – Though two bridges here were deemed in critical condition by the state, the town might not have to take action on the matter for five years.

Bridges across the state underwent inspection last year and some areas were hard hit by the findings. The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury recently set funds aside to repair eight bridges in the parish closed by the state. According to jurors, repairing the bridges will cost between $20,000-$50,000 while larger bridges could see a price tag of $150,000.
