CADA services survive cuts

Last month, state budget cuts slashed just under one million dollars from funding for family violence prevention and intervention programs. According to the Associated Press, the cuts equal a 16 percent drop in money spent on contracts the state has with shelters and domestic violence programs.

Here in Jeff Davis Parish (JDP), Communities Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) has not been exempt from those cuts.
