Cardinals outscore ESA, set Midland in sights

LACASSINE – The 11th seeded Lacassine Cardinals took control of their visitors early to ultimately record a 72-21 win over the 22nd seeded Episcopal of Acadiana Falcons Tuesday. Lacassine now advances to the Class B Regional round of the playoffs and will travel to face District 7-B rival Midland on Friday night.
In the bi-district contest, the Falcons took their only lead of the game at 4-2 with 6:11 to play in the first quarter. The Cardinals rallied to take a 10-7 lead with 2:15 to play in the period, then closed out the first quarter with a 7-0 run to take a 17-7 first quarter lead.
