CDA applications due Feb. 28
Daily News Staff Report
The Louisiana Department of Agriculture is reminding Louisiana producers that for the 2013 crop year, Feb. 28 is the final date to apply for Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) coverage on grass for grazing and hay, spring-seeded crops such as corn and cotton for which crop insurance is not available, and summer seeded vegetables such as peas, watermelons, tomatoes and okra.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) NAP program provides protection from catastrophic natural disasters up to 50 percent of an established yield and 55 percent of an established price, according to a press release.
