Come Together
About 30 Jennings residents gathered on South Main Street Wednesday evening for a community prayer service and walk. Organizer Kiara Charles said the event was in response to the weekend murders of husband and wife Charles and Katrenna Williams Jr. of Jennings. The couple was found dead inside their Seagraves Street home Sunday evening. Their four year-old son was also present in the home but had no physical injuries.
“We need to pray that their killers are caught and we also need to show people that Jennings is a good place despite some things,” Charles said. “There’s not enough positive in this town but Jennings is a good place. If we would all pull together, I think we could be an even stronger community.”
Following a prayer, the residents walked several blocks down Main Street in a display of unity.
