Dogs experience tough week

CROWLEY – The Jennings Bulldogs battled the Crowley Gents in a district showdown Friday and experienced a tough time on the road. The Lady Bulldogs were downed, 53-36, while the Bulldogs came up short, 64-59.

Crowley’s Ladies kicked off the contest with a quick 8-0 lead before the Lady Bulldogs scored a layup by Jada Bradley with 5:08 on the clock. The Lady Bulldogs got as close as five points but the Ladies ended the first quarter on a 8-0 run for a 20-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter. In second quarter action, the Ladies increased their lead to 15 points early. A pair a free-throws by Bradley and a three-pointer by Kailey Breaux got the Lady Bulldogs within 11 points of the Ladies with 2:30 remaining. Crowley’s Ladies led at halftime, 35-17.

Jennings’ two teams had a tough time on the road this week, falling to their Westlake hosts on Tuesday then to their Crowley hosts on Friday. Jennings remains on the road this Tuesday as district action continues at South Beau.
