DOTD breaks ground on La. 97 expansion project

On Wednesday, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) held a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the La. 97 improvement project in Jennings.

The $4.4 million project involves a one-mile section of La. 97 between La. 102 and I-10.

OLI Principal Nicole Reeves (from left), project engineers Beau Istre and Matt Lancon, former State Senator Jerry Theunissen, DOTD District 07 Administrator Steve Jiles, Mayor Terry Duhon, Dist. 37 State Rep. John E. Guinn, project manager Adam Breaux, Dist. B City Councilman Johnny Armentor and Dist. A City Councilman Rogeous Lawdins were all on hand Wednesday for the groundbreaking of the state’s project that will widen and make improvements to a one-mile stretch of La. 97 in Jennings.
