Elton man sentenced in federal court for assault charge

LAKE CHARLES – An Elton man was sentenced Thursday for an assault on his father last year.
United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced Thursday that Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana member Nicholas Tyler Poncho, 21, of Elton, was sentenced Thursday before U.S. District Court Judge Patricia Minaldi to 33 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release and a $1,000 fine for assault.
