Funeral services for Francese Fondel Gordon, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Elmore Garner will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 9 from 12 p.m. in the church.
Mrs. Gordon entered into eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, in a local hospital.
Francese, a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, was a devoted, quiet and respected member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of W.O. Boston High School and Kate’s Barber College in New Orleans. She was a well-established barber in the community for many years.
She leaves to cherish her memories three brothers, her twin Rev. Franklin E. (Stella) Fondel Sr., Raymond M. (Esther) Fondel Sr., and George Fondel; one sister, Mary Ellen (Antoine) Semien, all of Lake Charles; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Rosa Fondel Sr.; four brothers, John, James, David Jr. and Marion Fondel; and a loving niece, Martha Rosa Fondel Smith.
