JDP Kicks Off Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras got an early start in Jeff Davis Parish Saturday as Elton and Lake Arthur both hosted annual festivities. In Elton, the annual Children’s Mardi Gras Run rolled through the countryside as kids danced to Cajun music and chased chickens. Lake Arthur had a full day of events, including a country run for adults followed by the town parade down Arthur Avenue that afternoon.
