Joseph Curley Dudoit
LAKE ARTHUR – It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph “Joe” Curley Dudoit announces his passing from this life on Feb. 27, 2013, while in the comfort of his home in Welsh at the age of 89.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in honor of his life at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. Joe will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery with full military rites. Msgr. Groth will be officiating his services.
Visitation will begin today, Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, from 2:30-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur. Visiting hours will resume on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral mass.
Joseph Curley was born in Kaplan to the late Robert Dudoit Sr. and the late Clamelia Schexnider Dudoit on July 25, 1923. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during World War II. Following his military service, Joe worked for Olin Chemical for 42 years until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the VFW.
Joe is survived by his companion, Emelda “Lou” Robicheaux Touchet of Welsh; one son, Joseph J. Dudoit of Lake Arthur; his daughter, Catherine Teal, also of Lake Arthur; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Joe now rests in Heaven with his beloved family who preceded him in death: his parents, Robert and Clamelia Dudoit; his wife, Rose Mary LeBlanc Dudoit; one daughter, Ophelia Ann Guidry; his brother, Robert Dudoit Jr.; one sister, Ledia Primeaux; and one son-in-law, Alfred Teal.
