GRAND COTEAU – The top seeded Lacassine Lady Cardinals struggled early but pulled out a 33-18 win over the no. 17 seed Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau Lady Saints in the Class B regional playoffs Thursday. Lacassine (36-1) advances to the Class B Quarterfinals on Monday night when they will host Converse, who was a 39-29 winner over Hornbeck. The game time is set for 6 p.m.
“They did a great job on making us rush our shots,” said Lacassine Coach Eddie Michalko of the win. “We struggled all night on offense, but we held them to no points in the third quarter. I feel good about our defense, but we just have to handle adversity a little better.”
