The family of Mr. Leroy Joseph Teele is mourning the loss of their loved one, who drifted into the arms of the Lord in the early morning hours of Feb. 25, 2013.

Funeral services will be held to honor his life on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Esther, in Greenwood Cemetery. Bishop Botley will be officiating his funeral service.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his funeral services at 2 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings.

Leroy Joseph was born in Evangeline to the late Dileno Teele and the late Marie Lanthier Teele on May 5, 1926. He was self-employed as a shrimper until his retirement. He loved being outdoors shrimping, hunting, fishing and working in his garden. Leroy was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed doing things to help others in his community. He was a loving son and husband, a fantastic dad, and the greatest grandfather in the world to his grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Leroy is survived by one son, Roger Dale Teele of Oberlin; his daughter, Marcel Kaye Langley of Egan; one brother, Milton (Jo Etta) Teele of Jennings; his four sisters, Ella Domingue of Jennings, Yvonne Lampous of Kinder, Ethel Doucet of Lake Arthur, and Clara (Francis) Benoit of Jennings;  his two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Leroy now rests in Heaven with his beloved family who preceded him in death: his parents, Dileno and Marie L. Teele; his wife, Esther Mae Sittig Teele; one son, Frederick Joseph Bluewing Teele; two brothers, Willard and Melvin Teele; and his sister, Mae Fontenot.

Carrying Leroy to his eternal resting place in Greenwood Cemetery will be Steve Dugas, Curtis Benoit, T.J. Miller, Vincent Daigle, Carl Ray Theriot and Richard Warren Hall.
