Thanks to a literacy grant garnered last year, area preschoolers got the chance to attend a performance by an award-winning children’s music recording artist.

The Learning Station’s Don Monopoli performed four shows at the Strand Theatre in Jennings on Wednesday and Thursday to teach pre-k students through dance and song that learning to read can be fun.

On Thursday, Jeff Davis Head Start pre-k students enjoyed an educational performance by The Learning Station’s Don Monopoli, who kept the kids dancing and singing – all while learning valuable reading and language skills.
