It was ladies night for local 7B teams Monday, as the Lacassine Lady Cardinals, Hathaway Lady Hornets and Midland Lady Rebels all claimed bi-district wins to advance to Thursday’s regional round of the 2013 hardwood playoffs.

The no. 1 seeded Lacassine Lady Cardinals easily recorded a 93-8 home win over the no. 32 seeded Lafayette Christian Lady Knights; Hathaway’s girls (no. 4) outscored Stanley (no. 29) in all four quarters for the 59-27 victory at home; and Midland ranked at no. 20 upset their higher-ranked hosts, no. 13-seeded Holden, by a 61-45 count for the win, as well.

All three teams advance to Thursday’s regional round, where Lacassine will travel to face 7B rival Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau and Hathaway will visit league-mate Midland.

Hathaway’s Lady Hornets were all smiles before and after their hardwood contest at home against Stanley Monday as they easily won the game, 59-27.
