Local shares ordeal of Carnival Triumph voyage

For Christmas, Allison Dietz surprised her children by booking a cruise for the family and several friends on the Carnival Triumph that set sail from Galveston, Texas, on Feb. 7.

“And now my kids wish I would have just given them the money,” Dietz laughed.

Aboard the Carnival Triumph, bread was the staple for most meals while local residents moved mattresses to a lobby to sleep each night.
