Budget, tax reform will be biggest challenges this year

WELSH – With only a month left before the start of the 2013 Louisiana Legislative session, local lawmakers met with area citizens Tuesday morning to discuss some of the biggest challenges legislators will face this year.
The annual Legislative Breakfast, sponsored by the Jeff Davis Business Alliance, welcomed area business leaders and public officials, giving them a chance to ask questions of legislators from Jeff Davis Parish in an open forum. Dist. 25 State Sen. Dan “Blade” Morrish and Dist. 37 State Rep. John E. Guinn both attended the breakfast.
On Tuesday, Dist. 25 State Sen. Dan “Blade” Morrish and Dist. 37 State Rep. Johnny Guinn discussed issues lawmakers will be facing during the state’s upcoming legislative session in April.
