Diamond teams return to action today

Jennings, Welsh and Lake Arthur diamond teams participated in area baseball and softball tournaments over the weekend, as they gear up for district play later this month.
Jennings’ Diamond Dogs took part in the Beau Chene Tournament, recording two wins and one loss over the weekend. Jennings opened the tourney against their hosts and put up a 12-1 win on Friday, then fell to Port Barre by one run, 4-5, Saturday morning. Jennings closed out the tourney with a Saturday afternoon win over Franklin, 15-4, to improve to 4-4 overall on the early season.
