Gate fees at parish landfill in question

A disposal company that uses the Jeff Davis Parish Sanitary Landfill to dispose of its waste is asking the Landfill Commission to look into the legality of the landfill’s operator charging different waste fees for themselves than other disposal companies.

Parish Disposal Industries (PDI) co-owners Bill Pousson, J. DeRosier and Harold Barber attended the meeting of the Jeff Davis Parish Sanitary Landfill Commission Wednesday to ask the commission members to look into the pricing of gate fees by the landfill’s contracted operator, Republic Services, formerly Allied Waste (BFI).
