Lady Cardinals advance to Class B State Finals

LAKE CHARLES – The Lacassine Lady Cardinals knew playing the Hathaway Lady Hornets for a sixth time this season wouldn’t be easy, but the Lady Cardinals made it win number seven over Hathaway with a 52-32 Semifinal finish Friday at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
The wins pits top seeded Lacassine (39-1) against second seeded Fairview in the Class B State Championship game next week in Monroe. The date and time of the game will be announced on Sunday. It will also be Lacassine Coach Eddie Michalko’s final game of his career, as he announced his retirement earlier this season.
Lacassine’s defense held Hathaway to just three points in the first quarter and 32 on the night in the Lady Cardinals’ semi-final win over the Lady Hornets Friday.
