It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Mrs. Marilyn S. LeBlanc announces her passing from this life and into the arms of Our Lord on Friday, March 8, 2013, at the age of 76.
Funeral services will be held to honor Mrs. Marilyn’s life at First Church of Christ in Jennings on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 4 p.m. Jack Harris will be officiating. Mrs. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Mermentau Cemetery following her service.
Visitation will begin today, Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 3-9 p.m. and resume on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 8 a.m. until the time of her services at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings.
Marilyn was born in Church Point to the late Leonard Sonnier and the late Aurlia Istre Sonnier on Aug. 2, 1936. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, and was a seamstress for many years. She was a devoted parishioner to the First Church of Christ. Marilyn found love and peace while reading her Bible and listening to the beautiful music of Christ. Often she could be found in the kitchen spending time with her beloved family cooking, baking and butchering. This sweet little lady was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband, Herbert Lee LeBlanc of Mermentau; her two sons, Randle Lee (Jodean) LeBlanc of San Antonio, Texas, and John Troy LeBlanc of Mermentau; three daughters, Connie Lynn (Russell Eric) Henry of Lyons Point, Marlene Kay (Ray) LeJeune of Mermentau, and Debra Ann (Gustave) Soileau of Jennings; her stepsister, Rose Marie Mire Premeaux of Mermentau Cove; her 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Carrying Mrs. Marilyn to her eternal resting place in Mermentau Cemetery will be Eric Henry, Keith LeBlanc, Ricky Soileau, Randy Fontenot, Edward Boudreaux, Remi Miller and Coy James Henry. Honorary pallbearer will be Heidi LeBlanc.
