Funeral services for Milton Mire will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Milton will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery following his services. Father Charles McMillin will officiate his services.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from 2:30-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday at 8 a.m. until the time of his services.
He was called to Heaven on March 2, 2013, at the age of 85 while in the comfort of his home.
Milton was born in Jennings to the late Jean Batise Mire and the late Alida Credeur Mire on Dec. 28, 1927. He was a retired farmer. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening.
Milton is survived by his beloved wife, Margie Leger Mire of Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Milton was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jean and Alida Mire; one brother, Clifford Mire; and his sister, Bernice Mire Dugas.
