Sybil Ann Benoit Guidry
Lake Arthur – The family and friends of Sybil Ann Benoit Guidry are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life and into the arms of the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the age of 59.
Funeral services honoring Sybil’s life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at noon. She will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery following her services. Rev. Austin Spell will officiate.
Visitation will begin today, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 11 a.m. until the time of her services on Thursday at Matthews and Son Funeral Home.
Sybil Ann was born in Jennings to the late Lucien Benoit Jr. and the late Mavis Moore Benoit on Dec. 1, 1953. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. Sybil loved to cook, garden and raise yard animals. She also collected wind chimes.
Sybil is survived by her beloved husband, Allen Ray Guidry of Lake Arthur; two daughters and their husbands, Julie (Tony) Duhon of Lake Arthur, and Crystal Guidry-Robinson (Dee Donnell Sr.) of Odenton, Md.; her two sons, Marshall (Heather) Guidry of Lake Arthur, and Kenneth Guidry of Pensacola, Fla.; her three sisters, Barbara (Mike) Bourque of New Iberia, Sue (Jimbo) Castle of New Iberia, and Frankie Teal of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Charles B. Benoit and Richard W. Benoit, both of Lake Arthur; her 11 grandchildren, Colbey and Marisa Duhon, Darrion and Derrick Stoute, Mousey Robinson, Ryan, Emily, Caleb, Anna and Alexander Guidry, and Alexis Guidry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sybil was preceded in death by her beloved family: her parents, Lucien Jr. and Mavis Benoit; and her sister, Margie Gail Domingue.
Carrying her to her final resting place will be Colbey Duhon, Darrion Stoute, Derrick Stoute, Ryan Guidry, Marshall Guidry and Kenneth Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Guidry and Alexander Guidry.
