Albert L. Broussard
LAKE ARTHUR – A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur on Friday, April 26, 2013, at 10 a.m. honoring the life of Albert L. Broussard, 91. He was called from this life on April 23, 2013, while in the comfort of his home. Albert will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Mausoleum with full military rites. Msgr. Ronald Groth will be officiating his services.
The Broussard family requests that visitation be observed at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur today, Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 1:30-9 p.m., and continue on Friday, April 26, 2013, from 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral mass at 10 a.m. A rosary will be recited this evening, Thursday, at 7 p.m. by Jeannine Aguillard Rick.
Albert was born in Lake Arthur to the late Jules Frank Broussard and the late Amie Reese Broussard on July 12, 1921. He was an electrician by trade. Albert was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3012. He enjoyed horses and ranching in his youth. He loved to cook for family and friends. Albert also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Albert is survived by one daughter, Mary Amy (Mike) Aguillard of Lake Arthur; three grandchildren, Joel Aguillard, Jerry (Kelly) Aguillard and Jeannine Aguillard (Joe) Rick; five great-grandchildren, Daniel Rick, Ami Aguillard, Austin Aguillard, Chandler Aguillard and Trey Rick; one brother, Elridge Broussard of Houston, Texas; and one sister, Marion B. Hanks of Lake Arthur.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Frank and Amie; his wife, Lucille Mary Ortego Broussard; and 10 of 12 siblings.
Carrying Albert to his final resting place will be Joel Aguillard, Jerry Aguillard, Daniel Rick, Austin Aguillard, Ami Aguillard and Allen Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Chandler Aguillard, Trey Rick and Joseph Rick.
