LAKE ARTHUR – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Cecile “Sunshine” Toups announces her passing from this life and into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the age of 101.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cecile were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. She was laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur on Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 2:30 p.m. A rosary was recited by Marlene Perkins on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
Cecile, known to her family and friends as “Sunshine”, was born in Cameron Parish to the late Pierre Trahan and the late Evika Dronet Trahan on April 20, 1911. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family.
Cecile is survived by her two daughters, Madeline Bonin and Janet (Richard) Gagneaux, all of Lake Arthur; her six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Carrying Cecile to her eternal resting place in Andrus Cove Cemetery were her great-grandsons, Cody Nowocin, Jordan Schexnider, Corey Howard, Taylor Gagneaux, Nicholas Touchet and Hunter Guillory. The honorary pallbearer were Marline Perkins.
