Jackie Thomas Dupuis
The family and friends of Jackie Thomas Dupuis are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life and into the arms of Jesus after a long hard fight during the early morning hours of April 17, 2013, while in the comfort of his home. He was 54 years old.
Funeral services honoring his life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, April 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. Jackie will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery. Father Charles McMillin will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends to bid their final farewell to Jackie will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Thursday, April 18, 2013, from 1:30-10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, April 19, 2013, at 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral services.
Jackie Thomas was a lifelong resident of Jennings and born to Shirley Mae Guidry Dupuis and the late Clifton Dupuis on November 1, 1958. He worked in the oilfield industry as a production operator for many years. Jackie was a hard worker and earned the profound respect of his fellow employees. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who where blessed to have known him.
Jackie is survived by his beloved mother, Shirley Mae G. Dupuis of Jennings; four children, Derrick Thomas Dupuis of DeRidder, Tiffany (George) Whitehead of Merryville, Erin (Brian) Knight of DeRidder, and their mother, Linda Dupuis, and Ashlyn (Paul) Beard of Mittie, and her mother Pamela Viator; his three brothers, Paul (Debbie) Dupuis, Gerald “Tiny” Dupuis and John (Brandy) Dupuis, all of Jennings; one sister, Cecelia “Sue” (John) Dennis of Jennings; his two grandchildren, Colton and Piper Beard; and four nieces and two nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Dupuis.
Carrying Jackie to his eternal resting place in Andrus Cove Cemetery will be Paul Dupuis, Gerald “Tiny” Dupuis, John Dupuis, John Dennis, Neil Gary, Donovan “Blackie” Dupuis, Brian “Pic” Trahan and Corey Dupuis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will include Paul Beard, George Whitehead, Derrick Dupuis, Brian Knight, Scotty Dupuis, Christopher Dupuis and Jeremi Jester.
