James Ronald Lee
Funeral Services for James Ronald Lee, 68, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Jennings. Rev. Samuel West Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Benevolent Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
Visitation will be in Mt. Triumph Baptist Church on Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 9 a.m. until time of services.
James “Ronald” Lee was born in Lafayette on Sept. 8, 1944, to Rosena Davis Lee and the late James N. Lee. He was baptized at an early age at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church under the late Rev. Jeff Peterson. He was educated throughout the Jefferson Davis School System. He was a very loving, affectionate, giving person and throughout his life, he raised and nurtured many children.
Ronald was a gifted pianist and the love of music throughout the Lee family led him to play for various churches and organizations: Christ Sanctified Holy Church, Jennings; Jeff Davis Community Choir and Fondel Memorial Chapel, Jennings; Mt Zion B.C. and Crowley Community Choir, Crowley; New Hope Baptist Church, Welsh; Golden Chain Baptist Church, Elton; New Sunlight B.C., Mermentau; Progressive B.C., Iota; and Mt. Triumph B.C., Jennings; and the Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings. He continued to play until his health failed him. After a long battle with illnesses, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Cornerstone Rehab Hospital in Sulphur, he slipped away into a peaceful sleep and began his eternal rest.
Survivors include his children, Sharon Robinson and Zenetta Lee of Jennings, Marvenda Lee-Senegal of Crowley, Sgt. First Class Markisicha Lee of New Orleans, Curtis Lee of California, Ronald Perry of Jennings, and Michael and Marcus Lee of Crowley; his sisters, Ret. SSgt. Maggie R. Brown of Wichita Falls, Texas, Ayana E. Lee and Jerra W. Ceasar of Jennings; his brothers, Albert J. Lee of Oberlin, and Michael Cahee of LaPlace; his mother, Mrs. Rosena Davis Lee of Jennings; one aunt, Mrs. Annie Mae Levy of Roanoke; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father James N. Lee; a brother, James Lee Julian; a sister, Maureen Lee; and two sons, James Ronald Lee Fields and Zacariah Lee.
