JHS tennis team makes history

Daily News Staff Report

The Jennings High (JHS) Tennis Team traveled to Shreveport on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Regionals Tennis Tournament and made history in the process. Not only did the team advance 11 players to the state competition next week, but also saw Kate Hollier win all of her matches to earn a first place finish in girls’ singles for a regional title – the first in JHS history.

The JHS girls’ team also came out first in the Regionals Tournament with 12 team points, which advances all of their female players to state competition. It’s the first time since the 1980s that the JHS girls’ tennis team claimed a regional title, as well.
