Juvenile, parolee nabbed in separate drug busts

The Jennings Police Department (JPD) recovered illegal narcotics in two separate cases recently, one involving a juvenile and the other involving a man currently on parole after serving time for a drug conviction.

JPD Deputy Chief Danny Semmes said today, Tuesday, that the first drug stop took place on Thursday, April 4, when a Directed Patrol Unit officer observed a male subject traveling on South Street on a bicycle, smoking a brown cigar. The subject, however, appeared to be a juvenile, so the officer stopped him and smelled the odor of marijuana.
