The family and friends of Lynne Fontenot are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life and into the arms of Jesus on April 14, 2013, at the age of 66.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in her honor at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. Lynne will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Father Charles McMillin will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends to bid their final farewell to Lynne will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Tuesday, April 16, 2013, from 2:30-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass.
Lynne was born in Beaumont, Texas, to Merle Gilmore Daigle and the late Luke Daigle on June 21, 1946. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family who she loved so dearly. Her favorite pastime was playing tennis.
Lynne is survived by her beloved husband, Mervin Fontenot of Jennings; her mother, Merle G. Daigle, also of Jennings; one daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Kody Roy of Jennings; her two brothers, Jack Daigle of Caldwell, Ida., and Donald Daigle of Lafayette; one sister, Lesley (Ross) Plasterer of Norfolk, Virg.; and one grandchild, Kassidy Jade Roy.
Lynne was preceded in death by her father, Luke Daigle; and one sister, Laurie Merchant.
Carrying Lynne to her eternal resting place in Greenwood Cemetery will be Donald Daigle, Russell Dupuis, Elmo Romero, Kevin Fontenot, Don McSpadden and Ronnie Guillory.
