Mabel Weldon Reed
Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel “Louise” Weldon Reed, 73, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack Harris officiating.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Visitation began on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 5:30-10 p.m. and continued on Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
Mrs. Reed died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 5:35 p.m. in the Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings.
Mrs. Reed was a native of Shreveport and lifelong resident of the Hathaway/Jennings area. She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of Christ. Mrs. Reed loved working in her yard, fishing, hunting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Arba Lewis Reed Jr., five sons, James (Arlene) Weldon of Merrillville, Ind., Kirk (Harriet) Weldon of Hathaway, Joe (Emelia) Weldon of Lafayette, Arba (Valerie) Reed of Jennings, and Keith (Leslie) Reed of Cincinnati, Ohio; four brothers, R. L. Ritter of Dallas, Texas, Douglas Ritter of Burr Ferry, Jerry (Fran) Ritter of Burr Ferry, and Frank Ritter of Burr Ferry; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her first husband; Andrew “Bud” Weldon; and her parents, Robert John Ritter and Robert and Maggie Montz.
